The Ghana Tourism Authority has launched and donated newly open- top buses for the country, this is to boost and improve domestic tourism in the country nationwide.
The Ghana Tourism Authority is a Ghanaian state agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (headed by the Honorable Minister Ibrahim Mohammed Awal ) responsible for the regulation of tourism in Ghana by marketing, promoting, licensing, classifying, researching and developing tourism facilities and services in the country.
Tourism as we all know, is a key economic driver in most country and our country Ghana is no exception. This generates foreign exchange earnings, creates jobs and wealth as well as stimulates other sectors of the economy. Tourism is currently the fourth largest source of foreign exchange earnings estimated at US2.
This intriguing initiative of having an open-top bus in the country will definitely yield some earnings, promote our day to day activity in the country and improve our tourism fraternity as well. And so this is where the “purchased the made in Ghana” is drum home once more in our ears.
