Thomas Teye Partey (born 13 June 1993) is actually a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Arsenal and the Ghana national team. Partey began his professional career at Spanish club Atlético Madrid in 2013, going on loan to Mallorca and Almería, and returned to Atlético in 2015, with whom he won the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in 2018. However, the Arsenal skipper Thomas Partey will not be included in the Black Stars squad ahead of the friendly games scheduled for 8th and 11th June against Morocco and Ivory Coast respectively. Initially, it was circulated that he was sacked by Head coach, CK Akonnor because he arrived late to the camp of the Black Stars and Ghanaians have been asking questions as to why a valuable player like Partey is being treated that way, so after confirming from sources close to him, it was revealed that he asked for permission to be excluded from the team squad citing fitness issues.
We hope Partey receives treatments so he gets fit soon and gets back to playing in the Ghana national team, we really need him on the field. We all know Partey, and know what he got and know what he can do. May God strengthen him and bring him back.
