BLACK STARS GOALKEEPER, JOJO WOLLACOTT SIGNED BY CHARLTON ATHLETIC.

The current Black Stars goal keeper, Jojo Wollacott has been signed by League one English Premier side Charlton Athletic after he put an impressive performance at his club side (Swindon Town) and the Qatar 2022 world cup qualifier matches.

The 25 year old goal keeper joins Charlton Athletic as a free agent on a three-year deal after his contract expired at Swindon Town where he made 39 appearances last season and helped them to the League Two play offs with his superb goalkeeping skills and was named in the league two team of the season last campaign.

Records indicate that Jojo Wollacott was born in England but comes from Accra, Osu to be precised. He has not lost touch with his home and community as he has some uncles and aunties here. Wollacott states emphatically that his father and mother are both Ghanaians and they come from Osu which makes him a bonafide son of the soil.

Jojo Wollacott came through the shades of Bristol city and went on loan spells outside the EFL. He then joined the League Two side Forest Green Rovers on loan in 2019/2020, making his professional debut against Charlton. He then joined Swindon Town on an emergency loan in 2021, before signing a permanent deal at the start of the 2021/2022 season.

Wollacott expresses delight in his new journey with Charlton Athletic and hopes to guide the team towards greater achievements. He also seeks to keep up with his goal keeping form and live up to the expectations of his team management, mates and cherished fans.
