The the mother of former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, Madam Victoria Agbotui, who recently celebrated her 101st birthday has died.
The one-time head of the catering department at the presidency during Rawlings’ era celebrated her 101st birthday on September 9.
The mother of the former president celebrated her birthday amid merrymaking and well-wishes Born in 1919, Madam Agobtui turned 101 on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. In celebration of her birthday, many photos of the old woman popped up and trended on social media.
Madam Victoria Agbotui has been firmly behind her son in all aspects of his life including his political career. She first appeared in the political scene when her son staged a coup in 1979.
Sources close to the Rawlings family indicated that Madam Agbotui had been unwell for some time.
