James Nana Womba is the lead suspect of the late Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh has been reported to have passed away last Saturday, October 17, at the Police Hospital in Accra. He is said to have died after being admitted at the hospital after being under the weather.
The mother of James Womba, who confirmed the death of her son to said armed security officers broke the news about the demise of her son to her on Monday, October 19, 2020 at her residence in Accra.
Ms Talata Nona who could not hold back her tears, said she was in shock when she got the information about her son’s sad demise on Saturday.

She narrated how she received the news at the office of Womba’s lawyer. Her son’s laywer was the only person who could break the news to her.
According to her, she paid a visit to her son a week ago and he was in a good condition.
“I visited my son exactly a week ago and he was in good health and so I am surprised they’re telling me of his demise,” she divulged.
Womba, who allegedly confessed to killing the University of Ghana law lecturer, had been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder and had been arraigned before the Kaneshie District Court.
