On Thursday 17th June, there was an intriguing match between Belgium and Denmark at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen with Belgium securing a 2-1 win over Denmark with a goal scored by Yussuf Poulsen in the shirts of the Danish national team, Thorgan Hazard and Kelvin De Bruyne scoring for Belgium.

The Denmark national team had high hopes of winning the match but their expectations were shattered because they lost to their opponents in the match. Denmark took the lead after two minutes when Yussuf Poulsen slotted home a clinical finish, sparking emotional celebrations inside the stadium, and eight minutes later the match was paused.

Both sets of players, coaching staff and supporters gave a minute’s applause for Christian Eriksen, the playmaker of of the Danish national team who is recovering from the cardiac arrest he suffered on the pitch during last weekendās defeat to Finland.

A banner was also displayed among fans in one of the stands, which read: “All of Denmark is with you, Christian.” That was done in honor of Christian Eriksen. However, Belgium winning that game indicates that they have gained automatic qualification into the round of 16 of the Euro 2020 competition.
