Christmas is an annual festival celebrated by Christians in the month of December to mark the birth of their saviour, Jesus Christ.
On the Christian calendar, this period serves as a platform where people share sweet moments with their relatives, friends and loved ones.
We all hold this period in high esteem and Ghanaians have an array of expectations as far as this festival is concerned.
Last year was a sorrowful one due to the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on people’s lives and the economy of various countries. The disease acted as a stumbling block in the 2019/2020 Christmas celebrations; Social interactions came to a halt due to the pandemic.
However, Ghanaians seem to be making preparations for this year’s Christmas amidst the huge reduction of the active Covid-19 cases. Strict adherence to the safety guidelines and vaccine intervention are major factors which have contributed to the reduction. Most people have taken their jabs to prevent them from getting infested.
People have been purchasing foodstuffs, beverages and other materials for the purpose of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Families and friends can interact and celebrate with each other during this occasion without any bad omen coming their way as the covid-19 pandemic did.
