Hello distinguished individuals, did you know today February 14 marks the celebration of the annual Valentine’s day festivity? 14th February is a day when it is traditional to send a card often anonymously, to a person one is romantically involved with or attracted to.
The month of February reflects an epitome of love in Ghana and the world in general. It serves as a moment where we share love with our families, friends and loved ones, which bonds us together.
Valentine’s day is the current special event taking place in the world and I know when this festivity shows up every household turns upside down with full excitements, nostalgic moments and sweet experiences.
This auspicious day creates a platform for reconciliations, love from old and new family members and friends, strengthens bonds among individuals across the world.
Did you know the first Valentine’s Day was in the year 496? I am sure you didn’t know that, Having a particular Valentine’s Day is a very old tradition, thought to have originated from a Roman festival.
The Romans had a festival called Lupercalia in the middle of February – officially the start of their springtime. It originated as a Christian feast day honoring one or two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine and, through later folk traditions.
Which has now become a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world. The valentine’s day turns out to be one of the greatest festival in the world since its historic inception.
Most people are of the view and perception that, Valentine’s Day is all about couples, lovers, married couples among the love relationships you could think of. But no, let me break out this disclaimer; Valentine’s Day is for everybody, young, old, rich, poor, just name it.
We go through this august season to develop our love we have for our family members, friends and loved ones. It’s also the glue that binds is together in love in the world, no wonder God is love and He sent His only begotten son to die for us.
